I know there is at least one spot open on the manifest because one of the jumpers who signed up told me he is attending as a non-jumper.

Maybe I can win that last spot and fulfill one of my dreams of jumping in my own hood...

Good news. I'm out in Sylvania, Georgia this weekend to complete Jumpmaster refresher training to prepare for this and future shows. I'm impressed with the RCPT Airborne SOP and was able to help with parts of it.
If we put into practice what is set out in the SOP it is very sophisticated in terms of what we will do to put the jumpers on target. We will use some of the same methods the Army Pathfiders use. I'm very interested to learn this and put it to use.

We'd be happy to have you. This is an RCPT event though so you will need to sign up and pay dues if you want to be on the DZ Support Team.

Got my qualifying jumps in for the show today. I hadn't jumped SF-10A since October and I have to have a jump with the same parachute within 90 days of the show to be qualified to jump per the FAA rules. Now I'm current and good to go.

Mission accomplished. Completed my training this weekend with RCPT to become a certified Commemorative Airborne Operations Jumpmaster. We conducted recertification jumping, DZSO and spotting training. I was very impressed with the professional level of all the instructors. I'm looking forward to the air show in April. ATW! By the way, if anyone plans on attending as a reenactor let me know. One thing we could use is a period vehicle (jeep or deuce and a half) for personnel recovery.

Everything is a go. We received our FAA waiver for the jump. We have 10 jumpers for the show on Sat and Sun. There will be a rehearsal jump on Friday also. Here is the schedule. It's a pretty big show and admission is free. Come check out our first round canopy drop in So Cal. I'll be the Safety (non-jumping) on Friday and Saturday and Jumpmaster (jumping) on Sunday.

Troops, First 2 days winds were hi and no lift on Friday so we come back the next day and made a streamer run and winds came up over our limit so we landed and trained some more cuz I love training... Ahhhhh, then comes sunday, we are told that our window has been moved to 1030 hours from 1230 hours. Orders were given to chute up and make this jump a go, my stick was ready the air crew were ready and the DZSO gave us a goooooooo. We circle a holding pattern for about 35 minutes when the word came to make our first check run and when we came around for the jump run, all were a go, the winds were very low like about 5 knots from 130 direction. I am first jumper when commands from the JM were given to hook up. We were given the 30 second warning to prepare to exit the aircraft. I was told to STAND IN THE DOOR and of course stepped up set myself steady hooking my palms on the outside of the door when the word GO was given and there I went. What a blast being a big part of this air show. Attachments:
