RCPT-USA is now offering a round canopy first jump course.
In this 3-day course you will learn the basics of jumping with a military static line deployed steerable round parachute. This course is offered for those with no previous parachuting experience, experienced skydivers who have not jumped with a round parachute before, and those with previous round canopy experience who desire recurrency training after a long break in service or who simply want to learn.
You will be instructed on the use of the SF-10A parachute, currently in use with the US Army as part of the MC-6 parachute system. Many sport and round canopy jumpers consider the SF-10A to be the best steerable round canopy available today. Instruction will include equipment familiarization, actions in the aircraft, actions during descent, landing techniques, the basics of canopy control and emergency procedures.
After completing ground training, you will conduct 3 jumps from a Cessna Caravan or Cessna 182 at 1,500 feet AGL.
Total cost for the course is $350, which includes professional instruction, chute rental, 3 repacks from our on-site rigger service, 3 lift tickets on the Cessna or Caravan, and RCPT-USA team membership.
After completing the first jump course, you will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment. You then have the option of staying on to join other experienced jumpers at our 3-day jump event, Operation Sandsnake, at Skydive Palatka, February 10-12, 2017, and jump from the C-46 Commando. The C-46 Commando is a WWII warbird troop carrier, best known for its role in dropping paratroopers in Operation Varsity.
Come train with the Round Canopy Parachuting Team - USA and join the ranks of the international commemorative Airborne troopers!!
