Pops Blank adapter is the gold standard and is worth the money.. many blanks are different size restrictor needs.

The non-adjustable GI ones only work with some blanks unless you drill it out. They have been known to fly off the weapon and become a projectile if the threads get worn. Pops is a friend of ours and his BFA is the best one made bar none. It looks the best, and is the safest one out there. The Danish ones are not allowed due to fact that they look like crap. Even though the Pops one is $100, you get what you pay for. He will replace any BFA that does not work right. I don't think anyone has ever returned one to him.

Thanks for the replies. I figure the "pops" would be best for adjustable, safety and looks, just needed clarification.

I know this is an old thread, but the best blank adapter is the invisible type, internally threaded. It is the most realistic. Same is true for M1 carbine.

I agree Tom, but the Pops ones look good and do not have to alter your barrel.

Pops also makes a carrier for the BFA and parts that is a replica Carlisle Bandage.
As has already been said, Pops is the best and the kind that I have and swear by.

I finally got my pops, just need to get it to the range and determine the proper aperture. I have a couple hundred 1909 blanks available. any recommendation on which aperture to start with or should I contact Pops for aperture blanks? any recommendation on ammo type? thank for the advice.

Always start with the largest and then work your way down if you have to.

I was just curious if there is much pressure difference from the 1909 red tip blanks from the movie blanks that Pops says the BFA is intended to be used with. if they are similar in pressure, then I understand that you start large and work your way down.

They should be similar.

Now I just need to get to the range and set up the BFA. Testing it in the back yard will likely cause trouble with the neighbors and such.
