In the case of the smoking area, a sand filled bucket and a shovel will be available. The bush and small grass both areas shall cleared. Fire can spread quickly. If one identifies and attempts to try to put a fire out, he shall announce to folks in the area that there is a fire by shouting "Real World! FIRE!" If you realize that you are not able to quickly extinguish fire or make any headway in controlling it, back out immediately and call the Fire Department (911).
How To Use a Fire Extinguisher
PASS = Pull, Aim, Squeeze & Sweep with a Fire Extinguisher It's easy to remember how to use a fire extinguisher if you can remember the acronym "PASS", which stands for Pull, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep.
First, "Pull" the Pin
Pull the pin.
This will allow you to discharge the extinguisher.
Then, "Aim" the extinguisher at the base of the fire.
"Aim" at the base of the fire.
Note: If you aim at the flames (which is frequently the temptation), the extinguishing agent will fly right through and do no good. You want to hit the fuel.
Then, "Squeeze" the handle or lever.
"Squeeze" the top handle or lever.
This depresses a button that releases the pressurized extinguishing agent in the extinguisher.
Next, "Sweep" from side-to-side
"Sweep" from side to side until the fire is completely out. Start using the extinguisher from a safe distance away, then move forward. Once the fire is out, keep an eye on the area in case it re-ignites.
