World War II Reenacting gear, clothing, equipment, and dress can for the reenactor become overwhemling at times. Also each area of the country and/or unit can have a variety of standards. And finally there are lots and lots of items which "look ok" but are simply NOT acceptable for our unit or the Tactical Events we attend.
The average reenactor adds to his impression, each year. But before you come to your first tactical events, you need to have or make arrangements to borrow the following 6-Basic Items.
1. US World War II Approved Helmet
2. Boots - Corcorans to start
3. M1942 Standard unreinforced Jumpsuit
4. At least one wool blanket (use to cover Farbee items)
5. M1 Garand Ammo Belt
6. Canteen
There are a lot of additional items which come later, but these need to be in place for your first event.
Helmet - Correct Helmet and Liner
Note after the war, when NATO was formed, many country adopted the USA Helmet "look", and while many of these look similar they are NOT allowed. Specially their Helmet Liners

Boots - Cochran Jump Boots, don't be confused with the other types.
Basic Clothing and Gear
This is a complete impression, which will take time to assemble. But again, the Basic-Six are required before attending.
01. M1942 jacket - Unreinforced elbow patch
02. M1942 trousers - Unreinforced knee patch
03. Pant Suspenders
04. Jumpboots
05. M1 helmet
06. Musette Bag
07. Combat suspenders
08. Cartridge belt
09. First Aid kit
10. Canteen
11. Entrenching tool
12. Brassard Gas
13. Gas mask bag
Haircut - Don't bale out on getting your hair cut before each event
