As a suggestion to refine to your impressions.
My research has shown that the men in the 05 did not wear white short sleeve t-shirts as their standard issue undergarment. It must not have been common. White t-shirts were in the US Army QM supply catalog but they do not appear to have been used by the 05 S4. What does appear to the be the norm are the OD tank top style summer undershirt and/or the OD long underwear. They obviously did not have OD short sleeve undershirts like the modern military brown ones, but I would suggest their use as a reasonable facsimile to the long underwear top instead of using white.
Furthermore, since NW Europe was a cooler climate it makes sense that the packing orders from regimental and battalion HQs indicate that the OD wool shirt was almost always worn underneath the jumper coats and M43 jackets. OD Wool Shirts part of the authorized uniform.
This all goes in contrast to the "US Paratrooper" white t-shirts that were bought in the base PXs while in the states.
OD Wool trousers were also authorized but since you don't see them in the photos....
Respectfully submitted,

It should be noted while we try to stay as perfect as possible we also have to be realistic I see this as a minor issue that can be fixed with planning for photos. during battles we don't want folks dropping with heat injuries. Over time as folks improve their impressions we can slowly change out undershirts.
