OUR MISSION: To perform World War Two-style parachuting activities, and conduct memorial ground services to honor all Allied Paratroopers who fought, and many died, to defeat despotism in Europe. This we humbly do to reinforce world-wide memory of the priceless deeds of valor, and the selfless sacrifices so many made in those brutal battles to restore peace on Earth.
RCPT-USA is the USA branch of the Round Canopy Parachuting Team (RCPT) based in Normandy, France. In 2014, RCPT and RCPT-USA combined to make an unprecedented 1,500+ jumps at the 70th commemoration of the liberation of Normandy, without a team injury, and flew 10 C-47s for 8 days in 5 mass parachute drops without an aircraft incident. RCPT and RCPT-USA also conducted jump operations in Holland in 2014 for the 70th anniversary of Market-Garden. In 2016, RCPT and RCPT-USA returned to Normandy and Holland to conduct commemorative parachute operations. We expect the 75th Anniversary events in 2019 to be unprecedented in scale.
Closer to home, we conduct parachute training and perform commemorative airborne operations at air shows. Our base of operations is at Skydive Palatka, a full service drop zone in Palatka, Florida. Our past events include the 2016 March Air Fest at March Air Reserve Base, and the Stuart Airshow in Stuart, Florida. We are planning future air show jumps are seeking qualified jumpers to help us fulfill our mission. In addition, we conduct airborne refresher training and will be offering a basic round parachute course in February, 2017. The parachute events we host throughout the year are open to all qualified round canopy jumpers.
While we portray allied paratroopers in WWII, we are not reenactors. We maintain the highest sandards of safety in our training and equipment. We are supported by professional parachute riggers. Our main and reserve parachutes are the best models currently available on the civilian market, including the SF-10A canopy, currently in use by the US Army as part of the MC-6 parachute system, and the improved reserve parachute system. Our standards, training and Airborne Standard Operation Procedures (ASOP) are based on US Army TC 3-21.220, and current procedures. Many of our team members and Jumpmasters are US Army trained Jumpmasters.
Membership and manifest information for future events may be found here.
