The first 23 seconds of this video is actually on the west side of the La Fiere Bridge over the Merederet River. The 1st Battalion, 505th (primarily A Company) and elements of the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment fought a furious battle for control and retention of this bridge during the first few days of the invasion. This fight would last a few days and be a bitter fight with no quarter given by either side.
It is also the subject of a war film by Dale Dye that he has tried to get going for a few years now. Unfortunately, he cannot find the funding necessary to get it off the ground.
